17th September, 17.00 The Delta of Bucharest
18th September, 16.00 Journey into the Twilight
French-Romanian documentary The Delta of Bucharest tells the history of a place, of the energy it gives off. In turn, monastery, prison, camp, natural park : the Delta of Bucharest becomes a « film space » where all the parallel lives materialize.
The movie has been already shown at numerous of international festivals and has won several awards.
Journey into the twilight is documentary essay that retraces the roads that lead to the cold darkness of Italy’s decline: of the family, of the patriarchal society, of the school system, of religion. This is a land where the interior of the communal, public, shared space is made out of a colourless, amorphous egoism, where even the revolutionary, socialist, communist ideals mixed with the Manichean Catholicism have transformed into fideistic, totalitarian dogmas. From the opening credits, the animation expresses a combination of places: ghostly, austere, decadent, elegant, and decrepit. The world’s premiere was held at Venice Film Festival at 2021.
